First Grade Friday Fun
Each month, the two first grade classes join together at least once on a Friday afternoon for some sort of "FRIDAY FUN". We have done a variety of activities, including a scavenger hunt in the fall, painting pumpkins, creating holiday gifts for our families, watching and discussing a video about Martin Luther King Jr, and working on a variety of Valentine projects. On some Fridays we just get together and have "open door choice", where the students can play together in either classroom, or we all go outside together--most recently to play on "snow mountain" on the back playground. We ALL enjoy the opportunity to do something fun together!

Magnet Mania
During our unit on magnets, children enjoyed learning and exploring. Could you move a matchbox car without touching it?
Snow Mountain
"Snow Mountain" as it is termed by the first graders has been a favorite play spot for first graders this winter. They love to climb, slide and jump! We even had someone lose a tooth out there!
