Farewell to KinderRoo Our Kindergarten friend KinderRoo and her sidekick Vowel Owl have left Central School to travel to Venezuela where they will teach other children all about letters and letter sounds. A special send-off took place on Thursday, November 17th, with the students singing all of their favorite letter songs with KinderRoo one last time, giving her a big hug, and putting her on the bus to the airport. The bus arrived promptly at 11 AM, and KinderRoo, her
baby Joey, and Vowel Owl were escorted to the airport by Mrs. Durand and Mrs. Steuwe. Kindergarten students will keep in touch with KinderRoo throughout the school year by writing letters and sending pictures. |
All School Sing features Australia! The third grade was featured during All School Sing on Friday, November 18th, singing songs and performing a play from Australia! In addition, Mrs. Miller and Mrs. Steuwe stopped in on a (very long) walkabout and shared some of the Australian artifacts and stowaways in their backpacks! They even played a didgeridoo.....or at least they tried to! |
